How has your health improved since beginning care at Living Well Chiropractic?

I did not have any physical pain when I first sought out care at Living Well Chiropractic. I met Dr. Dave at a Home Show in October 2007, and was interested in the information that he had provided during our discussion. In 1985, I had my second incident of skin cancer which required all the lymph nodes in my neck, along with the neck muscle and main spinal nerve to my shoulder removed.

I have dealt with tight back muscles along my shoulders since the surgery, and started to notice that my upper spine had a more pronounced curve that I felt needed to be reviewed.

Since the first adjustment, I noticed a big difference in how I was holding myself.
The recent changes that Dr. Dave has made in his adjustments have made more of a change in my physical posture. I have noticed that I no longer have the tight shoulder muscles, my shoulders are more level instead of one drooping. I have a greater range of motion in my neck and head posture. I believe this work, along with with the nutritional changes that I have made from the education on the subject that he provides to his patients, has also led to not being sick in the last two years that I have been seeing Dr. Dave. I also believe that the physical support has helped with my grief over the loss of my daughter at the age of 11.

My son has been a patient of Dr. Dave/Living Well Chiropractic for a year and a half. He was in a car accident in April 2007. Dr. Dave has been great with my son. He has responded well to all the adjustments and had a major change in his overall posture as well as health. He is no longer taking any ADHD medication, and has not been for the past year.

I would recommend to any family to have regular appointments with a chiropractic to ensure they maintain the best spinal health in today's environment.

Before Dr. Dave, I was always at the M.D.'s office for a variety of joint issues- usually very painful tendonitis. I seemed to get it everywhere, plus my feet hurt chronically. I had a muscle spasm under my right scapula, and nothing I tried fixed this for very long, or very well. I tried physical therapy and massage.

Dr. Dave cured that muscle spasm in one adjustment. Wow. That was just the beginning - I no longer get tendinitis, my feet don't hurt my asthma disappeared- He totally changed my life. And as he continues to educate himself, every year he (and my health) get better.

Pain and I have been friends for years. It was so much there, that I had forgotten she was there. I used to have dreams of my death before my time was over. I used to choke at night, unable to breath, and my nights were very short. It wouldn't matter if I had 3 hours or 10 hours of sleep, I would wake up as if I hadn't slept at all...

My ankles were swollen, I couldn't move my head, my cramps in my legs were automatic when I used to stretch. I stopped exercising, it was too painful, my weight increased considerably, my eyes began to suffer, and migraines would hit me every other day. My body reacted in such a way that I had finally resigned to finding out what was wrong with me.

I went to many doctors, but after the first visit, I just felt inside that what they were telling me didn't match what i felt.

They told me I had no B12, so I took shots of B12 for 3 years, twice a month. That didn't help. Then, I started losing my hair. I started having stomach cramps that prevented me from eating. So, they told me I was allergic to gluten. Asthma started setting in, and sometimes my heart would beat faster. I felt heat waves, then cold temperature, and my limbs would go numb. Such inconsistency.

But not one doctor could tell me clearly what I had.

I stopped searching for a cure, thinking I would just die young. So I lived my life as if I had my last breath tomorrow. I just didn't know how or when I was going to die. It used to scare me.

I went to prayer meetings, but still, I believed there was no hope. This lasted 32 years.
About two months ago, In September 2008, I found my neck to be so painful, I couldn't even move. My back was so sore; my limbs had become so numb, that I thought I was having a heart attack. But a friend of mine, an RN, had been going to Dr. David Stender, this chiropractor who happened to have a passion, and she let the cat out of the bag.

I jumped on his address, and went to him. I knew he must have the solution. And I knew intuitively that he would understand. I really know that I knew that this was a divine encounter. I was at the end of my rope. Pain was so much present, that I was unable to turn in any position...

He took x-rays of my back on that first visit, and indeed, I had damage that I always knew I had, but I just didn't know where.

I came back that same day, and he manipulated my back. Immediately, I felt my nerves going whacko right around my neck and nose! And I was able to breathe! For the first time in my entire life, I knew what breathing was. My gluten allergy? Gone! I can now enjoy too much the many delicious pastries of my wonderful husband, who is a Master Pastry Chef. I can breathe, I can stretch, I can touch my toes, and I can swing from left to right. My appetite came back, my migraines decreased considerably, my energy sky rocketed. I now am able to sleep 3 hours, and feel as though I have slept 12 hours!

Dr. David Stender and his care for me were magical. It is a G-d thing. It was destiny. Did I forget to mention that know I feel like I have my whole life in front of me?

My husband now goes with me, and his health improvement is drastic as well. There are no words to describe the works and miracles this encounter has done in our lives.

I do hope that you will take this opportunity to be part of Dr. Stender's family. For we are a family, and there is no other place I would want to go. Good-bye doctors, good-bye B12, good-bye on failures and shortness of life. Good-bye to the thought of being incurable...

Thank you Dr. Stender and your wonderful team, for having changed my life!

I do feel pain from time to time, for it does not go away without my personal efforts. But I do enjoy my sleeping time now, without having a stack of pillows in order to breathe during the night. How about you? Where are you at? When will you start investing in your health and making it a priority?

Trust me... I am on my way to recovery, and you can too... Life without pain is something that is worth striving for... Especially when you have your whole life ahead!!!

Ruby Munson -March, 2008-

About 4 years ago, there was a shooting pain in the back of my left leg and all the way down. I could barely inch along, there was no one around and I had to get to my car. After 1 hour I made it, as I had parked 3 blocks away.
I suspected it was my syatic causing the problem. My daughter advised me to take ibuprofen, which did relieve the pain, but two hours later I needed to take 2 more; and it was not addressing the cause.
I decided I had to get the problem stopped. After the x-rays were taken Dr. Dave pointed out the cause. Now after 3 months of treatments, there is only a faint sensation sometimes and the bottom of my foot no longer cramps up at night. I get up in the morning rested and now get on with my life, "Thank you so very much".

I have always known that chiropractic wellness is a number one factor besides eating right, exercise, and rest. Chiropractic treatment has just been out of reach due to no insurance coverage. But Dr. Stender has solved that problem by giving a payment program and not sending me indebt to a credit card. He is willing to wait with no interest.

Besides my neck and shoulders getting better I had a pain in my chest that I thought was my heart. My doctor told me it was indigestion. Gave me a prescription and said if it doesn’t help we will need to go in and look. I decided not. And I didn’t take the drugs either. I found something at the health food store that relieved the pain some. For two years I had this. I didn’t tell Dr. Stender about this, but after a few times going in for adjustments that pain is gone. Then I told him.

I work next door at Farmer’s Insurance; I kept seeing this couple with their pugs going over. I stopped and talked to them one day and found out that their dogs were going.

My dog, Gretel had done something to her back and was in great pain. She could no longer jump up or get on the bed or couch. I took her to the vet, all they would do is put her on painkillers. Nothing was helping her, so I went into the office and made the appointment to take Gretel in. I felt that no one would be able to tell Gretel that this would make her better, it would either help or she would be the same, I felt that I had nothing to lose. After the first treatment, she was jumping again. She now acts like a puppy again, not the 11 year old dog she is.
I am forever grateful for what they did for Gretel. If my pets ever need help again, I know who I will be calling.

Dear Dr. Dave,

Already a year has passed since Frank and I met you. I want to recap for you how I see my progress; my subjective account may not be as accurate as the computer readings that you take, but I think you should know how I feel.

The first three months were spent adjusting my brain; it took me a long time to relax and let you do your job. The chiropractic concept was so new and different to me that I was skeptical at first, although I wanted it to work. By the end of that time I was ready to get down to business and try more aggressive adjustments.

In the next four months, with the stepped-up program, some things were happening internally that I am remembering now:

1. My heart wasn’t beating irregularly anymore.
2. Two different pains in my left pelvic area disappeared.
3. Headaches are less frequent.

These things had been occurring for 10 years or more.

In the last five months I have become more accustomed to the adjustments; a walk around the block facilitates that. I feel better generally, and specifically in the lower back and hips. I am beginning to realize how the spine affects all the organs in the body.

The exercises you prescribed have strengthened my back, and after doing them for a year, I see that they are important in conjunction with the adjustments.

The last twelve months have been demanding, rewarding, educational, and a life-changing experience. Your staff, as usual, has a smile and a kind word at every appointment. You can see the possibilities of change for me, and that keeps me going.

I have learned to trust you, and believe in your abilities and your philosophy. I am pleased to be your patient. My goals for the next year include being faithful to exercise and have an attitude of wellness.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all the wonderful care you have given me. I have gotten so much relief from the treatments. However, the main reason for this letter is to thank you for helping our dog Gizmo.

Gizmo had a fall while trying to jump off our sofa. He is so tiny (he weighs less than 3 lbs..) that he really hurt himself; he threw out his shoulder area. We tried our veterinarian, but all we got was painful medication that left him ’out of it’. He was so pitiful, it even hurt him to eat. We were extremely worried about him.

At one of my regular visits, I mentioned Gizmo’s problems to you, and you were kind enough to offer to have me bring him in for you to take a look at. I took you up on your kind offer, and you gave Gizmo an adjustment. We noticed an improvement in him the very same day! Since that time, you have given Gizmo several adjustments and he has really made progress. He seems to be almost back to normal again.

At the Home Show last spring, my husband and I saw Dr. Dave’s booth and decided to see if he could detect scoliosis. He did! Dr. Dave is the first doctor to tell me that my spine can be re-shaped.

Dr. Dave is diligent in imparting health information to his patients. I have learned much about my body’s ability to keep itself well when interference is removed.

Several doctors have known about my scoliosis over the span of 25 years including G.P.s, G.O.s, neurologists and physical therapists.

When under stress, either physical or emotional, my back muscles turn into painful knots. One doctor prescribed muscle relaxants and TYLENOL 3 for the pain, and one suggested physical therapy. The rest ignored the problem.

If Dr. Dave hadn’t had a booth at the Home Show, I would have missed the chance to discover that Chiropractic care is important to my good health.

I don’t get sick (and if I do, I don’t get AS sick AS LONG), which helps to not miss work or spend money on medication. Chiropractic has also helped with my TMJ which was contributing to my headaches. I also have a better understanding about chiropractic and I’m able to explain it to others.
